Starting out BlueHost can be one of the best and budget-friendly ways to get started. They offer a solid hosting package and take care of some basic WordPress management.
Bluehost really shines on pricing because you can’t really get cheaper than $2.75 per month. Think about it coffee at Starbucks is probably $5, the pricing is super great!
This pricing applies when you purchase a 3-year plan so you a reliable host for 3 years and you do not have to worry about it. The 3-year plan comes out to just under $100! This is truly a great investment to make for your business that for a lot of people is a great way to just pay once and not think about the tech for a long time. If you need to commit to less time the year plan is 4.95 / month totaling about $60 and a two-year plan is $3.95 / month totaling about $95 dollars.
Bluehost also takes care of your domain for the first year which is a nice little bonus in the cost variables.
Their features are basic and reliable. The lowest tier has plenty to get someone started.
Higher tiers start with the unlimited plans of unlimited domains and subdomains.
Bluehost is a great place to get started because they offer really affordable prices especially if you can jump into the 3-year plan. If you need the flexibility of a month to month plan then Bluehost will probably not be for you.
Bluehost offers WordPress pre-installed and offers a number of tools to manage your WordPress install.
The extra of a free domain for a year is a nice little perk, especially when getting started. Bluehost also offers great support via chat.
[00:00:08.320]
Hey, hey, welcome back!
[00:00:10.360]
In this video, I want to show you my four
[00:00:12.920]
top resources for hosting
and talk about their benefits and their
[00:00:19.200]
cons and talk about
the differences between them.
[00:00:21.680]
So I have four recommendations based
on where you are,
[00:00:25.720]
where you see your business going and what
type of business you're going to be
[00:00:29.000]
running or what type of blog
you're going to be running.
[00:00:32.120]
So there's some different
options to kind of think about.
[00:00:35.840]
So let's get started.
[00:00:37.440]
And again,
[00:00:39.040]
in this course, I want to give you some
options and have you make the decision.
[00:00:43.960]
And in the previous sections,
[00:00:45.840]
if you already got your domain via a host,
you may just be sticking with that host.
[00:00:51.000]
And three of these options give
you an option to get your domain.
[00:00:55.560]
And the last one has you get your
domain separately from their hosting.
[00:01:00.640]
Alright.
So let's get started.
[00:01:02.280]
First up, we have BlueHost.
[00:01:04.200]
BlueHost has been in the market
for a very, very long time.
[00:01:08.280]
They are one of the recommended
hosting companies by WordPress.
[00:01:13.320]
They have a great starting price at two
[00:01:16.080]
ninety five per month and they do give you
your domain for free for the first year.
[00:01:23.560]
And they also have free
SSL certificate included.
[00:01:27.120]
And this is important.
[00:01:28.400]
And all of these options do have this,
[00:01:31.080]
but the free SSL certificate
is very, very important.
[00:01:35.680]
One thing to notice is this two ninety
five per month is kind of a "gotcha."
[00:01:41.120]
It's two ninety five per month
if you do a long term plan.
[00:01:45.640]
So if we click on get started.
[00:01:51.640]
It's still one of the best options
for pricing, especially if you're
[00:01:55.920]
getting started and you want something
very low to get started with.
[00:01:59.480]
But two things are gotchas.
[00:02:01.120]
One, the two ninety five is a promotional
[00:02:04.120]
price, and it is if you
do a longer contract.
[00:02:07.520]
So if we select this
[00:02:10.160]
and I'm just going to say I'm going to use
[00:02:11.960]
my own domain or I'll
create the domain later.
[00:02:14.720]
So if you want to create your
domain, you can search here.
[00:02:18.640]
If you have your own domain already,
[00:02:21.040]
you can do this option or you can
also create your domain later.
[00:02:26.000]
So we'll just create my domain later.
[00:02:29.600]
Alright, so this is what I want to point
out so basic, thirty six month price is
[00:02:35.520]
to ninety five per month, but you're still
paying out one hundred and six dollars.
[00:02:40.720]
Yes, you get hosting for three years,
[00:02:43.800]
but you are paying out one
hundred and six dollars.
[00:02:47.800]
If you go to just a 12 month price,
you're paying sixty dollars at four ninety
[00:02:53.480]
five a month, which is still a great price
and I'm not trying to discount them.
[00:02:57.880]
It's a really, really good price.
[00:02:59.760]
These are really good prices.
[00:03:01.800]
But one thing to think about is
[00:03:04.600]
if your site grows fast,
BlueHost may not be the best option
[00:03:09.400]
and you may be looking
at switching to a different host.
[00:03:13.560]
So committing for that thirty six months
[00:03:17.000]
might be something that in a year you
might be ready to move to somewhere else.
[00:03:22.000]
Sites get slow.
[00:03:23.680]
If you have a lot of traffic,
[00:03:25.280]
it's really hard to manage on shared
hosting, which is what this is,
[00:03:30.440]
and BlueHost to keep their
prices really, really low.
[00:03:34.760]
They put a lot of sites on one server
[00:03:38.440]
and so think about, you know,
you're in a train car and there's
[00:03:45.040]
20 seats and then there's,
you know, one hundred people.
[00:03:49.880]
Well, it's going to be very, very tight.
[00:03:52.800]
But if they limit it to just the 20 seats
[00:03:55.320]
that they have the capacity for,
then everybody is comfortable.
[00:03:59.680]
So that's how they do it.
[00:04:02.080]
They you know, they have really
great options for pricing.
[00:04:05.880]
And I'm not discounting them.
[00:04:07.280]
They're a reputable host.
[00:04:10.000]
But you do have to think about where you
want to be in a year and if that's still
[00:04:15.400]
going to work for you
and you can always upgrade.
[00:04:17.880]
And there are upgrade
options and blue host.
[00:04:20.520]
But it's just something to think about
[00:04:22.320]
and something to think about
that you're not really paying two
[00:04:25.040]
ninety five per month.
[00:04:26.880]
You're paying one hundred
and six dollars a one time fee.
[00:04:29.800]
And yes, you have now thirty six months.
[00:04:32.760]
But if that's not within your budget,
[00:04:35.120]
then maybe paying seven dollars
a month might work better.
[00:04:40.720]
Alright,
so these options you really don't need,
[00:04:44.320]
they're just additional options
that they try to up-sell you with.
[00:04:48.240]
It is security tools,
but hopefully by the end of this course
[00:04:52.560]
you'll have some other options to get
you some great security tools.
[00:04:57.400]
So then you add on your credit card
information and you're good to go.
[00:05:01.960]
And again, if you switch this up,
you can see the prices for twenty four
[00:05:06.360]
months, which is really the same price
as your like ten dollars more to do.
[00:05:13.120]
Thirty six months and then
your 12 month prices which 60.
[00:05:17.240]
OK, you know maybe we can handle 16.
[00:05:20.440]
A lot of times that like
jump to over 100 is a lot to handle.
[00:05:26.760]
So it's still an investment.
[00:05:28.680]
It's still something to think
about your options there.
[00:05:33.160]
Let's take a look at the other plans.
[00:05:35.760]
And then also I want to talk about
once that first year or first three years
[00:05:42.400]
is up, then you're going to go to a plan
that you're paying seven ninety nine for.
[00:05:47.160]
You're paying eight dollars
a month for just fine.
[00:05:50.640]
It's still a great price.
[00:05:51.960]
But just kind of keep that in mind as
you're going through these options.
[00:05:57.440]
If you're looking to kind of grow using
[00:06:00.640]
the choice or the plus or the choice
plus might be some good options.
[00:06:05.200]
And then pro is if you have a lot
[00:06:08.720]
of traffic and need some more performance
and some more help in that way.
[00:06:14.280]
I've had a lot of clients on BlueHost.
[00:06:16.600]
They have improved their interface greatly
[00:06:19.840]
and we'll take a look at the
interface and the next lessons.
[00:06:23.240]
So they're a great option
and something worth considering.
[00:06:28.000]
And if you use my link, I believe
you get an additional percentage off.
